Randy Pijoan suffered a near death experience a few years ago. Afterhis recovery, he took a position teaching art at a local school. Theirdire situation hit him right between the eyes! There was no money forart supplies. Youngsters had no hope of perfecting their skills orlearning that art could be a lifes work. Randy was determined to giveback to this community the best way he knew how - through the arts! Whynot a place for artists to learn and create, share ideas and be part ofthe artistic fabric that is this community? Especially for the nextgeneration and beyond? After five long years of cajoling communityleaders and knocking on doors, his vision was realized. Ventero OpenPress Fine Art opened with a big bang, April of 2007. To learn more about Randy and his art visit his website at www.randypijoan.com. You can email Randy at randy_pijoan@ventero.org.

Francis has been at Ventero for a couple of years now. Odds are if you have come in, she has served you a cup of coffee. Francis works for us through a program called Seniors Inc. where they pay for her to be here. Francis has been a major part of our continued success here at Ventero.

If it wasn't for our volunteers, we would not be able to have the success that we have had. Volunteers help us run the coffee shop and gallery. If you would like to come in and volunteer, give us a call at 719-672-0557. We also have paid positions available for people at least 55 years old through Seniors Inc. To learn more about Senior Inc positions, call Randy at Ventero or email him at randy_pijoan@ventero.org.
